A sodium-resistant joining glass (1) suitable for producing a joint with a metal and/or ceramic is disclosed which comprises (in wt% based on oxide): SiO2 40-50 B2O3 >25-30 Na2O 5-15 Al2O3 17-25 ΣMO 0- <2 where MO is CaO and/or SrO and/or BaO; which joining glass is substantially free of ZrO2. The glass may contain ZnO, TiO2, SnO2 or MgO. It may further contain a filler material. Also disclosed are a joint of a metal or ceramic with further joining components (2, 3, 4) using the joining glass (1), and feedthrough-devices (20) using the joining glass (1) as fixing material. |
