PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimode optical transmission system, which is an optical fiber transmission using the conventional optical MIMO technology, capable of reducing a load of broadband digital signal processing even with a multiplicity being increased, and to provide a multimode optical transmission method.SOLUTION: The multimode optical transmission system uses a multimode optical fiber having at least three modes and transmits an optical signal by selecting a plurality of higher order modes having a small group delay difference from a fundamental mode out of higher order modes capable of propagating in the multimode optical fiber. |
