Class 12(1) [Also in Group V] In apparatus for reducing the diameter of a plastic cylindrical body (see Group V) the bearings 12 in which rollers 1, 2. 3 are mounted are slidable in slotted members 13 which are provided with racks 24. The racks engage a common pinion 25 which may be driven to move the bearings radially, or the rollers may be urged inwards by the tension in a chain 4, the pinion 25 thus ensuring that they converge at the same rate. In a modification the rollers are not arranged to converge radially but perpendicularly at different rates, the pinions engaging the racks then being of different diameters.
