<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce crosstalk in an image display device including an optical anisotropic element having a patterned optical anisotropic layer with a fine pattern. <P>SOLUTION: A patterned optical anisotropic element includes at least: a first film 14; and a laminate film including a second film and a patterned optical anisotropic layer 10 which is supported by the second film and includes a first retardation region and a second retardation region where at least either the directions of in-plane slow axes or in-plane retardations are different from each other and the first retardation region and the second retardation region are alternately arranged in the plane. The laminate film is disposed on a surface (a first surface) of the first film 14; and an area S2 of the surface (second surface) of the laminate film at the first film 14 side is smaller than an area S1 of the first surface of the first film 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
