摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method of detecting a holding azimuth of a component, and a system of mounting an electronic circuit component by utilizing the method. <P>SOLUTION: An LED 110 has an upper part 112 and a lower part 114, and has a shape by which the upper part 112 is not seen from a direction at right angles to a bottom face of the lower part 114, and indicates a polarity by formation of a notch 118 obtained by cutting away a corner of the upper part 112 in a notched surface 116. A lateral component imaging device 180 takes images of the LED 110 at a position where a lateral face parallel to a longitudinal direction of the LED 110 is at right angles to an imaging center line, and at a position where the notched surface 116 is parallel to the imaging center line. An image of the upper part 112 obtained by imaging at the parallel position becomes shorter according to the formation of the notch 118, thus the notch 118 is detected based on a difference between a distance between one ends of the respective images of the upper part 112 and the lower part 114 and a distance between the other ends in the longitudinal direction to determine a holding azimuth. Each dimension of the upper part 112 and the lower part 114 in the longitudinal direction is acquired by imaging at the right angle position and compared with a setting dimension to confirm the type of the LED 110. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p>
