<p>PURPOSE: A production method of a scribing wheel is provided to discharge a cullet generated from segmenting a brittle material substrate outside the scribing wheel by forming a furrowed unit connected to a groove on a slope surface of a blade of the scribing wheel. CONSTITUTION: A scribing wheel (40) includes a ridge, a blade (42), and plural grooves (44) along the circumference of a disk. The blade is formed on two slope surfaces (42a) on both sides of the ridge. The grooves are formed on the ridge. A furrowed unit (46) which is connected to the grooves is formed on the slope surfaces of the blade. The width of the furrowed unit widens by the distance from the grooves. The depth of the furrowed unit lowers by the distance from the grooves. A production method of the scribing wheel comprises the following steps: forming the grooves on the ridge of the blade; and the lower end of the grooves is irradiated by laser light from the front side of the ridge of the disk for forming the furrowed unit connected to the grooves on the slope surfaces of the blade.</p> |
