<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent compound which exhibits a large variation in fluorescence intensity even in a sample of low polarity and with which moisture in the sample is detectable, and to provide a moisture detection method using the fluorescent compound. <P>SOLUTION: The fluorescent compound is represented by formula (1) or formula (2) (in formula (1) and formula (2), each of R is independently hydrogen or an alkyl group, A represents a spacer, B represents a fluorescent mother body, and Z represents a Lewis acid group). The fluorescent compound takes on a fluorescent ion structure by directly reacting with water and emits fluorescent light. In addition, since the fluorescent compound directly reacts with water, it is scarcely affected by the polarity of the sample, and consequently the moisture in the sample of low polarity is detectable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
