发明名称 Improvements in or relating to mechanism for delivering bags or like flat articles in counted batches
摘要 716,807. Sheet-delivery apparatus. RAYMOND BAG CO. Jan. 7, 1952, No. 465/52. Class 100(1). [Also in Group XXX] Apparatus for delivering articles e.g. paper bags in counted batches comprises a normally stationary endless conveyer mounted in article receiving relation to an article delivery mechanism 30, superposed rollers 34, 35 supported adjacent the rear end of the conveyer to receive articles from the delivery mechanism 30 and to project them beyond the rollers and deposit them one upon another on the conveyer, mechanism for counting the articles so deposited and mechanism controlled by the counting mechanism for imparting a forward movement to the conveyer away from the rollers to effect discharge of the stacked articles 29 when a predetermined number of articles have been deposited thereon. The conveyer is mounted between side frame members 13 and comprises chains 15 running over sprocket wheels 17, 18, 19. Three abutments 20 are provided being pivotally mounted on rods extending between the chains 15. Each abutment is provided with a sleeve 22 bearing a roller 25 and with a part 26 which co-operates with a track bar 23 so that the abutments are at right angles to the conveyer chains when they are in article supporting position. The rollers 34, 35 comprise a plura'ity of narrow disc-like members, Fig. 2 (not shown) and the rollers 34 are mounted on a shaft 36 journalled in bearings 37 mounted in slots 33 on a frame member 31. The bearings have a limited amount of movement in the slots and are urged downwardly by springs 38. The rollers 35 are mounted on a shaft 39 journalled in bearings 40 slidably mounted in the slots 33. The lower rollers 35 are mounted so as to provide a gap between rollers 34 and 35 into which the leading edge of a bag may be fed by the conveyer 30 after which they are moved upwardly into bag gripping relationship with rollers 34 by rotation of a cam device 35a mounted on a shaft 48' driven by a sprocket wheel 36a. The rollers 34 are provided with a sprocket wheel 44 on the shaft 36 and rollers 35 are driven by a sprocket wheel 45. A sprocket chain 46 extends about the sprocket wheels 44, 45 and a wheel 47 mounted on a shaft 48. The shaft 48 carries a gear meshing with a gear 49 on a shaft 50 driven by a sprocket chain 52 and wheel 51 from a driven shaft 54. The drive shaft 54 also drives a sprocket chain 37a extending over the sprocket wheel 36a to drive the cam carrying shaft 48'. An abutment 41 pivoted at 42 prevents over-shooting of the bags. After a predetermined number of bags 29 has been deposited the conveyer is actuated so as to deposit them on a table 28. For moving the -conveyer a sprocket wheel 57 is connected with the inner side of each of the sprocket wheels 18, each wheel 57 being connected by chains 58 with sprocket wheels 59 on a shaft 60 which carries a rotatably mounted gear 63. The gear 63 meshes with a toothed gear segment 61 pivoted at 62. A pawl carrier 64 is rigidly connected with gear 63 and carries a pawl 65 co-operating with a onetoothed ratchet wheel 66 rigidly secured to the shaft 60 so that rotation of the shaft 60 may be effected in one direction only. Movement is imparted to the toothed segment 61 by means of two air cylinders 67, 68 rigidly connected to the ends of a structure 69 having spaced side walls between which is supported an operating member 70. Each cylinder includes a piston 71 connected by a piston rod 72 to the member 70 to which is secured a block 73 co-operating with slot 74 in the segment 61 so that by movement of the piston rods 72 the segment is oscillated in one direction or the other about its pivot 62. Overrunning of the shaft 60 is prevented by stop members 75, 79 the member 79 being mounted on an arm 77 pivoted at 78. Connected with the arm 77 is an arm 82 co-operating with a roller 83 on the member 70. In the position shown the roller 83 bears on the arm 82 to maintain the stop member 79 out of the path of the stop member 75, but upon actuation of the conveyer by movement to the left of the member 70 the roller 83 passes beyond the pivot 78 of the arms 77 and 83 allowing these to rotate anti-clockwise under the action of a spring 81 so that the stop member 79 may co-operate with the stop member 75. The cylinders 67, 68 are connected to a source of air pressure through a valve 85 having two ports, one connected to operate the member 70 in one direction and the other to operate the member 70 in the opposite direction. The valve is actuated by an arm 92, operated through linkage 93, 94 and 96 by a bracket 99 slidable on a shaft 98 to which is secured a cam 97 co-operating with a roller 100 carried by bracket 99. The arrangement is such that at the instant when the roller 100 rides into the position shown in full lines in Fig. 3 the cylinders are supplied with air in a sense to effect a forward movement of the conveyer and during the remainder of the rotation of the cam 97 the cylinders are supplied with air so as to move the toothed segment 61 back to the position shown in Fig. 1. The shaft 98 carrying cam 97 is rotated by means of a pawl 104 and ratchet 101 mechanism operated by a piston 102 and eccentric 103 mounted on the driven shaft 54. In order to prevent rotation of the cam 97 and shaft 98 in the absence of a bag to be delivered a shield 105 is provided which is spring biased into a position to prevent cooperation between the pawl 104 and ratchet 101 should no bag be delivered from the conveyer 30. The shield 105 is withdrawn by the action of a bag on a feeler 107 and linkage 106 connected to the shield 105.
