<p>An item of flat-pack furniture 12 comprising upright side panels 10 joined by stretchers 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 that define a gap between there between. Bridging panels 26, 28, 30 are positioned in the gap between the side panels and supported by the stretchers. At least one of the bridging panels is supported at a pivot edge by a pivot formation and at an opposite end by a stretcher. The pivot formation may comprise positioning and supporting dowels (50, 52, figure 5) or horizontal grooves (54, figure 5). The bridging panel having been pivoted about the pivot formation, bears against the stretcher for attachment. A kit for assembly into an item of furniture and a method of assembly is also provided.</p> |
