<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material which can be cured in air without replacing the atmosphere by an inert gas at the time of ultraviolet irradiation, and which can achieve performances required for an optically biaxial film, such as a sufficiently large in-plane retardation, with respect to a polymerizable liquid crystal composition supplied as a material for an optically biaxial film. <P>SOLUTION: The polymerizable liquid crystal composition contains a polymerizable liquid crystal compound, a light absorber and a photopolymerization initiator, wherein a monofunctional polymerizable liquid crystal compound having two 6-membered rings is contained as the polymerizable liquid crystal compound, an acyl phosphine oxide is contained as the photopolymerization initiator, and a light absorption band of the light absorber is a wavelength range of 320-380 nm.
