a substrate; a thin film transistor (TFT) disposed on the substrate and comprising a gate electrode, a semiconductor layer, a source electrode, and a drain electrode; a passivation layer disposed on the TFT and comprising an opening to expose a portion of the drain electrode; and a pixel electrode directly on the drain electrode and only within the opening, wherein the drain electrode covers a larger portion of the substrate than the pixel electrode.
