Pelleted carbon black readily dispersible to produce news ink, consists essentially of carbon black intimately associated with oil, water, and a dispersing agent which is an ammonium or amine salt of an unsaturated fatty acid, the oil content of the pellets being between 15 and 60 per cent. and the moisture content being between 5 and 35 per cent. Dispersing agents specified are:-ammonium oleate, ammonium linoleate, ethylenediamine linoleate, monoethylamine oleate, monoethanolamine oleate, morpholine eleostearate, morpholine oleate, triethanolamine oleate, piperidine oleate and morpholine supradistillate (a mixture of unsaturated fatty acids). The oil may be a mineral oil, or a news ink vehicle oil available on the market, for example Morrill's F87 oil. |
