<p>The present invention relates to the use of high dose of folic acid, or an equivalent dose one of its biological active derivatives to blunt myocardial dysfunction during ischemia and to ameliorate post-reperfusion injury. The invention specially relates to an early treatment by the application of a high dose of at least 200 mg folic acid, or an equivalent dose of a derivative during active ischemia, before the reperfusion.</p> |
