The present technology relates to an information processing apparatus and an information processing method that enable the acquisition of content in accordance with the immediate needs. A PDI-A generator, in response to PDI-Q which is information transmitted from a server and representing a question about user preference, generates a user-side PDI-A which is information representing a user's answer to the question. A content filter acquires content delivered from the server by performing matching between the user-side PDI-A and a provider-side PDI-A which is information transmitted from the server and representing an answer set by a content provider with respect to the question. The content filter, which is provided as a Web application, calls a plurality of APIs(Application Programming Interface) so as to perform the matching between the user-side PDI-A and the provider-side PDI-A. The present technology may be applied to a receiver apparatus that receives digital television programs. |
