FIELD: electricity.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, namely to structures of power plants of underwater vehicles. A power plant of an underwater vehicle includes a high-speed AC motor that is connected to the propulsive device of the vehicle through a reduction gear. The reduction gear is one-stage with parallel located input and output shafts and with high transmission ratio. Shaft of the electric motor is an input shaft of the reduction gear, and axis of the output shaft of the reduction gear coincides with the main axis of the underwater vehicle. Axis of the electric motor is offset relative to the main axis of the underwater vehicle. Displacement value of the electric motor is equal to centre-to-centre distance of reduction gear shafts.EFFECT: achieving reduction of mass and dimensional characteristics of an underwater vehicle; reduction of noise level and improvement of controllability of the power plant.1 dwg
