FIELD: instrumentation.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment of microwave spectrum and can be used for excitation of dielectric antennas, for connection of metal waveguides of receiving-and-transmitting equipment to dielectric waveguides of measuring circuits of different purposes. In a waveguide adapter from the metal waveguide to a dielectric waveguide, which includes a wedge-like piece of the dielectric waveguide and a piece of a rectangular metal waveguide with a horn, the piece of the rectangular metal waveguide has smooth change in the cross-section from rectangular at the inlet of the waveguide adapter to cross-shaped and further smooth change in the cross-section to square at the horn inlet, and the cross-section of the dielectric waveguide is equal to the cross-section of the vertical part of the cross-shaped metal waveguide with smooth reduction of the cross-section in the section of the rectangular metal waveguide from cross-shaped to rectangular one at the inlet of the waveguide adapter; with that, the waveguide adapter with the horn is made of two halves divided across the wide wall of the rectangular metal waveguide and rigidly attached to each other.EFFECT: improvement of coordination of wave characteristics, improvement of structural strength and simpler manufacture, stability of wave characteristics of a waveguide adapter at reattachment of dielectric waveguides.6 dwg, 1 tbl |
