LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

The present invention provides a method to manufacture a liquid crystal display device comprising: forming a sacrificial layer by laminating a non-photosensitive resin; forming an etching inhibition layer on the sacrificial layer; forming a photoresist pattern; completing the etching inhibition layer along the photoresist pattern; ashing the photoresist pattern and the sacrificial layer using the completed etching inhibition layer as a mask; forming a microspace by removing the sacrificial layer; and forming a liquid crystal layer in the microspace layer. According to the present invention, a horizontal area of a side wall of the sacrificial layer is reduced by forming a common electrode or the etching inhibition layer on an upper portion in order to increase an aperture ratio. A vertical electric field is generated without distortion as a common electrode is horizontally formed on an upper side of the sacrificial layer while the common electrode is not formed on the side wall. A spoilage layer and an outgas can be reduced using a non-photosensitive material for the sacrificial layer.
