In order to achieve the purpose, in a discharge lamp, an anode (30) is formed by bonding a body member (32) with a recess part (33) into which the electric heating element (M) is inserted to a cover member (36) having a protrusion part (46) tightly fitted in the recess part (33). And, a sealing space (50) has the recess part (33) to be tapered from the front end to the rear end of the electrode. The diameter (DM) of the sealing space near the surface (46S) of the protrusion part is smaller than the diameter (DN) in the center of the sealing space. |
