The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a food composition comprising a Daphne kamtschatica extract and a fraction thereof as active ingredients for preventing, treating, and alleviating inflammatory disease. A Daphne kamtschatica extract and a fraction thereof of the present invention have no side effects, which are derived from natural substances used as a natural medicine for a long period of time, and inhibit generation of a nitrogen oxide (NO) and TNF-α related to an inflammatory factor. Therefore, a composition comprising the Daphne kamtschatica extract and the fraction thereof of the present invention can be effectively used for preventing or treating inflammatory disease.
