A section (1) of a wire mesh cable tray (2) having a U-shaped cross-section, said section comprising:- a wire mesh formed by assembling longitudinal warp threads (3) and transverse weft threads (4) defining a bottom (5) and two wings (6); - lateral assembly parts (7) attached to the wings (6) of the section (1) comprising a loop (9) and two arms (10) substantially perpendicular to the loop (9), namely an upper arm (11) and a lower arm (12); characterised in that: - the assembly part comprises a hook (13) defining a recess (14) turned towards the outside of the section (1), said hook (13) being placed in the extension of the upper arm (11); - the loop (9) extends obliquely relative to the wing (6) so as to allow the section (1) to lock transversely to a neighbouring section (1).
