The liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a first substrate; a first sub-pixel electrode provided on the first substrate to which a first voltage is applied; a second sub-pixel electrode provided on the first substrate to which a second voltage is applied; a third sub-pixel electrode provided on the first substrate to which a third voltage is applied; an insulating layer provided between the first and second sub-pixel electrodes or between the second and third sub-pixel electrodes; and a common electrode provided on the second substrate to which a common voltage is applied. The second and third sub-pixel electrodes are laminated having the insulating layer therebetween. The first and third sub-pixel electrodes are positioned in different regions based on a gate line. The first and third voltages are different from each other.
