The present invention relates to a method for encoding a motion vector of a current block, which includes the steps of: selecting a first representative motion vector from a first motion vector set among motion vectors based on adjacent blocks of the current block, and selecting a second representative vector from a second motion vector set; determining predicted motion vector candidates including at least one of the first and second representative motion vectors based on the comparison between the first and second representative motion vectors; and encoding a difference value between a predicted motion vector selected from the predicted motion vector candidates and the motion vector of the current block.
