<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide management of a resonance frequency of a voice coil motor in a hard disk drive.SOLUTION: A method for decreasing a natural frequency of a voice coil motor (VCM) within a hard disk drive includes a step for composing one or both of yokes in at least one junction structure including a step mechanism. The step mechanism divides the junction structure into a contact surface and a concave surface, the contact surface is in a direction of an outer area of junction structure and abuts on junction structure corresponding to the other yoke, and the concave surface is in a direction of the inner area of junction structure and does not abut on the junction structure corresponding to the other yoke. Thus, distance between fixed points is increased and hence the natural frequency decreases, thus decreasing resonance of a VCM assembly.</p> |
