USER TERMINAL TO DETECT THE TAMPERING OF THE APPLICATIONS USING HASH VALUE AND METHOD FOR TAMPER DETECTION USING THE SAME

The present invention relates to a user terminal for detecting the tampering of an application program by using hash values and a method for detecting the tampering by using the user terminal. A user terminal according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a communication unit which transfers information on a user terminal and on an application program at platform level to an authentication server when the application program is executed, to receive source hash values for the application program from the authentication server or to receive source hash values for the application program from peripheral device paired with the user terminal; a hash value generation unit which generates, at platform level, hash values for the application program installed in the user terminal; and a tempering detection unit which compares the source hash values received from the authentication server or the peripheral device and the hash values generated to detect the tempering of the application program. According to the present invention, a user terminal can be protected from the application program which has been tempered. Furthermore, the tempering of the application program can be detected at platform level, thereby overcoming concerns related to conventional methods for detecting the tampering which may detour or evade such methods.
