PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS PREVENTING OR TREATING INFLAMMATORY DISEASES COMPRISING EXTRACT OF PHYLLANTHUS ACIDUS

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for prevention or treatment of inflammatory diseases, and more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition which comprises the extract of Phyllanthus acidus as an active component. The extract of Phyllanthus acidus according to the present invention can inhibit the phosphorylation of p85, Src and Syk, and the expression of IRAK-1 and also inhibit the activation of AP-1 and NF-κB to inhibit the expression of iNOS, COX-2 and TNF-α genes and thus prevent the generation of NO, so that a pharmaceutical composition comprising the extract can be used for prevention or treatment of inflammatory disease. Furthermore, the extract of Phyllanthus acidus exhibits little toxicity and effectively inhibits the expression of cytokine affecting the activation of inflammation and autoimmunity and of associated signaling proteins, so that the extract can be employed in wide applications for prevention or treatment of inflammatory disease.
