PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium-glucose cotransporter (SGLT) inhibitor.SOLUTION: Provided are: an optically pure benzyl-4-chlorophenyl-C-glucoside derivative represented by formula (II) and formula (III); a production method for the compound and an intermediate therefor; a pharmaceutical preparation and composition containing the compound; and a use thereof in the production of a medicament for the treatment and/or prevention of diabetes (including insulin-dependent diabetes and non-insulin-dependent diabetes) or diabetes-related disease (including insulin resistance disease and obesity).
