<p>An indexable cutting insert (1) for a milling tool comprises an upper surface (2) to define an upper extension plane, a lower surface (3) to define a lower extension plane in parallel with the upper extension plane. A central axial line (C2) is vertically extended through the upper and lower extension planes. A lateral surface (4) connects the upper surface and the lower surface, and comprises a plurality of upper main flank surfaces (5) and secondary flank surfaces (6a, 6b). At least six upper cutting edges (7) to be alternately used are extended in the circumference of the upper surface. Each cutting edge includes a chip removal main cutting edge part and at least one secondary cutting edge part. The main cutting edge part is formed in a transition part between the upper surface and one among the upper main flank surfaces. The secondary cutting edge part is formed in a transition part between the upper surface and one among the secondary flank surfaces between two main cutting edge parts. The upper main flank surfaces are formed as an internal angle (α) which is an obtuse angle with respect to the upper extension plane when viewed in a side elevation.</p> |
