PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared transmitting glass which is thermally stable and inexpensive.SOLUTION: There is provided an infrared transmitting glass which contains, by mol%, 0 to 20% of Ge (provided that 0% and 20% are not included), 0 to 40% of Sb (provided that 0% is not included), 0 to 20% of Bi (provided that 0% is not included) and 50 to 80% of S+Se+Te.
