(I) flowing molten glass into a trough such that the molten glass includes a free surface within the trough, wherein a portion of the molten glass with a corresponding portion of the free surface overflows an endless weir extending along an upstream circumference of a cylindrical surface to form a molten glass tube flowing down the cylindrical surface; and (II) drawing the molten glass tube off a downstream portion of the cylindrical surface to form a glass tube with a predetermined shape. |
