PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet light-emitting element having a high light extraction efficiency.SOLUTION: An ultraviolet light-emitting element 1 has a light-emitting part 5, a circuit board 3 and a UV transmission thin film 2, which are laminated on the surface of the light-emitting part 5, the circuit board 3 and the UV transmission thin film 2 in this order. An irregular face 3a or irregular face 3b is formed over at least one of faces of the circuit board 3 at the light-emitting part 5 side, or the circuit board 3 at the UV transmission thin film 2 side. The UV transmission thin film 2 is formed of an ultraviolet resistant material. The refraction index of the UV transmission thin film 2 is larger than the refraction index of the atmosphere and is smaller than the refraction index of the circuit board 3. |
