<p>A heat engine (10) is disclosed having the benefits of reduced noise and vibration of moving parts, improved life expectancy and relatively high conversion efficiency, in particular by limiting use of reciprocating parts. The heat engine (10) comprises a series of rotating elements (120, 160) that define regions for containing a working fluid. Some of the regions are heated, and some of the regions are cooled. Flow of the working fluid through passages (170) between the regions, and the expansion and/or contraction of the fluid as it is heated and/or cooled, drives rotational movement of the rotating elements (120, 160), thereby extracting mechanical work.</p> |
