The invention relates to a dryer (Se) running on plant waste comprising a drying tower (Ts) combined with a hot-air generator (Gc), the drying tower (Ts) connecting to the top portion of the generator (Gc) via a pipe (C) conveying recycled air (Ar) into a case (Cd) where it mixes with air (Acm) that is a mixture of outside air and combustion air (Ac), the combustion temperature being a parameter essential to operation, said operation being controlled by a control cabinet (Aco) that can operate the facility in manual or automatic mode, the generator (Gc) itself comprising, at the bottom portion: a furnace (Fo) which receives the plant waste injected via a worm screw referred to as injection screw (Vi), said furnace (Fo) being provided with a slag door (Trs) and a fan (Vef) that homogenises the temperature (Tf) of the furnace in order to optimise the combustion of the waste, and various means above the bottom portion for mixing the hot combustion air (Ac) with the outside air injected into the top portion (Ae) by means of vertical baffles (Ch), the outside air being injected by the top using a booster fan (Veg) provided with adjustable flaps propelling the air (Acm) at a temperature (T) close to 350 °.
