PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for waking up a device due to motion.SOLUTION: A method comprises a step of determining an idle sample value for a dominant axis of a device in an idle state. The method further comprises a step of registering motion of the device, and a step of evaluating the motion. The method further comprises a step of waking up the device when analysis of the motion indicates that change in the dominant axis of the device and/or level of acceleration exceeds a threshold.
