PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the occurrence of a black stripe from when reading the first document without complicated operations or processing, when reading the documents by using an image sensor including line sensors for a plurality of colors.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: a document transfer unit for transferring a document; a white plate; a reading unit including an image sensor having a plurality of line sensors, and an optical unit introducing reflection light to the image sensor; a moving unit for moving the optical unit; a generating unit for generating image data for each color; and a detecting unit for detecting the presence or absence of an abnormal pixel causing a black stripe. Before starting of reading the document, the detecting unit detects whether or not the abnormal pixel exists in the image data for each color every time the optical unit is sequentially moved so that a position of a reading line for a reference color is positioned at a reference line position for another color, and while the position of the reading line is positioned at the reference line position for another color having no abnormality pixel, the document transfer unit 2 transfers the document and the reading unit reads the document. |
