<p>A pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of ophthalmic disease caused by damage to retinal cells other than nerve cells, e.g., at least one selected from a group comprising age-related macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, Stargardt Disease, choroidal sclerosis, choroideraemia, and Oguchi's Disease, or conditions related thereto. The pharmaceutical composition comprises, as an effective component thereof, a sigma receptor ligand, ideally a cutamesine (1-[2-(3, 4-dimethoxyphenyl) ethyl] -4-(3-phenylpropyl) piperazine, or a salt thereof.</p> |
