The present invention relates to a display apparatus and a control method thereof. The display apparatus comprises: a communication unit communicating an external device; a first storage unit storing data processed in the display apparatus; and a control unit checking available capacity of the fist storage unit if using the first storage unit is requested from the external device, storing the first data of the external device corresponding to the request in the first storage unit if available capacity of the first storage unit is over a standard value, and not storing the first data of the external device in the first storage unit if available capacity of the first storage unit is under the standard value. Accordingly, the display appratus can share a memory with the external device effectively when communicating the external device through a network.
