VECTOR COUPLING ENCODING/DECODING METHOD AND CODEC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vector coupling encoding method capable of being useful for saving encoded bits.SOLUTION: A vector coupling encoding/decoding method and a codec are disclosed. The method includes a step for coupling split indexes between different vectors so that after splitting an encoding index of at least one vector, encoding free space of a different vector can be recoupled by coupling and encoding two or more vectors and the step is useful for saving encoded bits. In addition recoupling of a shorter split index after splitting the encoding index of the vector is useful for reducing necessary bit width of an arithmetic device during codec calculation.
