PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide easy, low-cost and sensitive biomedical sensor systems as electrodes for an electrocardiograph.SOLUTION: A biomedical sensor system includes a high impedance conductive electrode having an electrode impedance of at least about 20 k&OHgr;/(sq. mil) (1 mil=about 2.54×10m), and a dielectric material located on a surface of the conductive electrode. The surface of the conductive electrode receives an electrical signal discharged from the dielectric material in response to a time varying signal generated opposite the conductive electrode across the dielectric material.
