This invention provides a visual inspection device and a visual inspection method that make it possible to appropriately determine the acceptability of the state of a piece of solder. Specifically, in said visual inspection device and visual inspection method, a slope (a concave sloped region (Gc)) in the surface (Bs) of a piece of solder (B) is found, and the acceptability of the state of said solder (B) is determined on the basis of the result thereof. By thus using not the height of the solder (B) but rather the slope of the surface (Bs) thereof, the acceptability of the state of the solder (B) can be determined appropriately. |
