Disclosed is a method for manufacturing an image pickup module (100) that is provided with: a lens unit (10), which has a housing (11) that houses a lens barrel (15) and a lens drive apparatus (16); and an image pickup element unit (20). The method is provided with: a first step for holding the lens unit (10) and the image pickup element unit (20) on a Z axis that is orthogonal to a measuring chart (89); a second step for moving the image pickup element unit (20) in the Z axis direction, and having an image of the measuring chart (89) picked up at each position; and a third step for adjusting a tilt of the image pickup element unit (20) with respect to the lens unit (10) on the basis of image pickup signals of the measuring chart (89). In the first step, a cylindrical section (75b) and the lens barrel (15) are fitted in each other, said cylindrical section having the position thereof fixed within a plane perpendicular to the Z axis. |
