The embodiments of the present invention relate to a method and device for reducing power consumption. The method comprises: when a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) mode of a communication device is already enabled, recognizing, by a wireless communication module included in the communication device, whether service data to be sent exists at present; if the service data exists at present, acquiring, by the wireless communication module, received attribute information; determining, by the wireless communication module, a sending rate for sending the service data using the received attribute information; and determining, by the wireless communication module, a power supply voltage value of a power amplifier connected to the wireless communication module according to the sending rate, so that the power amplifier conducts amplification processing on a service request signal carrying the service data under the power supply voltage value. |
