<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of detecting the generation of an excessive steering torque due to the bend of a rack shaft thereby to warn a driver at an early stage.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device includes a rack shaft abnormality detection part 32 for detecting the abnormality of a rack shaft 5. The rack shaft abnormality detection part 32 is configured to light a rack shaft abnormality warning, in the case where the absolute value of a motor rotation angle detected by a motor rotation angle sensor 22 becomes at or higher than a predetermined motor rotation angleθ1 and the absolute value of a changing amount of a steering torque detected by a torque sensor 26 becomes at or higher than a predetermined steering torqueτ0, and this state occurs continuously a predetermined number or more of times.</p> |
