The present invention relates to an armrest type training device for upper limb rehabilitation, easily installed on the armrest of a chair used in home to enable an upper limb hemiplegia patient to train an upper limb joint by repetitively performing an exercise of folding and unfolding the same and to perform all the passive and active trainings in one device. The armrest type training device for upper limb rehabilitation according to the present invention includes: a base frame arranged on one side of a chair; a first rotating member installed in the base frame to rotate horizontally with respect the ground about a first rotation axis; a second rotating member installed in the first rotating member to rotate horizontally with respect to the ground about a second rotation axis; a first driving means making the first rotating member rotate horizontally with respect to the base frame; a second driving means making the second rotating member rotate horizontally with respect to the first rotating member; and a control unit controlling the operation of the first driving means and the second driving means.
