PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a multi-irradiation-unit irradiation system used in an apparatus for producing a three-dimensional workpiece by irradiating a plurality of layers of raw material powder with electromagnetic radiation or particle radiation.SOLUTION: In a method for controlling an irradiation system, when it is determined that a block of a radiation pattern to which a radiation beam emitted by an irradiation unit of the irradiation system is guided on a layer of raw material powder received on a carrier, and/or a contour of a three-dimensional workpiece to be produced extend to first and second irradiation areas 18a, 18b defined on a surface of the carrier, the block of the radiation pattern and/or the contour are split into a first block S1 and a second block S2 within a splitting region of the block of the radiation pattern and/or the contour which are positioned within an overlapping area 26 disposed between the first and second irradiation areas 18a, 18b. |
