摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material for lithium ion secondary battery excellent in charge and discharge cycle characteristics and discharge rate characteristics, and to provide a positive electrode for lithium ion secondary battery using the same, and a production method of a positive electrode active material for lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: In a solid-solution particle represented by a following compositional formula (1), after desorbing lithium in the surface layer of a solid-solution, the surface of the solid-solution particles is coated with lithium ion conductive glass thus producing a positive electrode active material for lithium ion secondary battery. A positive electrode for lithium ion secondary battery, and a lithium ion secondary battery are manufactured using that positive electrode active material. xLiMnO-(1-x)LiMO...(1)(x is a number satisfying 0<x&le;0.6; y is a number satisfying 0.7&le;y&le;1.0; M is at least one kind of element selected from Ni, Co, Mn, Ti, Zr, Al, Mg and V.
