Provided is an insulated electric wire having: a heat-curable resin layer provided upon a conductor, either directly or via an insulating layer, said conductor having a rectangular cross-section; and a thermoplastic resin layer upon the heat-curable resin layer. The insulated electric wire has a liquid component in the heat-curable resin layer at a ratio of 1,000-20,000 ppm that has a boiling point of at least 150°C and becomes liquid at 25°C. Also provided are: a coil having this insulated electric wire wound thereon; an electric/electronic device comprising this coil; and a method for preventing cracking of insulated electric wires, which prevents cracks occurring in a thermoplastic resin layer acting as a coating resin layer from reaching a heat-curable resin layer by using the insulated electric wire comprising the liquid component at a ratio of 1,000-20,000 ppm in the heat-curable resin layer.
