PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for avoiding overlapping of an organic material burning event (first stage of burning) and a clay dehydration conversion event (second stage of burning) of a ceramic structure, for reducing and/or avoiding inside crack initiation during burning.SOLUTION: The method includes forming an unfired structure having a core and coat part from a material including a clay material and organic material, and burning the unfired structure in a burning environment. In the burning step, over time period for substantially completing burning of the organic material before starting dehydration of the clay material in the vicinity of the core of the unfired structure, the organic material is heated at an average temperature rising speed of about 12°C/hour or less to a first threshold temperature (about a range of 400-425°C), and after that the organic material is heated at an average temperature rising speed of about 11-75°C/hour to a second threshold temperature that is higher than the first threshold temperature and less than or equal to about 750°C. The total time of first and second heating times is 62 hours or less. The method reduces and/or avoids crack initiation during burning. |
