PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a hard coat film having a coating film, which has a good appearance of the coating film, high total ray transmittance and pencil hardness, a low haze, and excellent adhesiveness and scratch resistance.SOLUTION: The hard coat film is obtained by applying the following water-base coating material on a thermoplastic resin film, drying the coating material, and stretching the thermoplastic resin film on which the coating film is formed. The water-base coating material comprises: a polymer that contains 70 mass% or more of a monomer represented by formula (I); and a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate that has a molecular weight of 290 to 2000 and a ratio of the molecular weight to the number of functional groups of 80 to 160, and has two or more (meth)acryloyl groups. In formula (I), Rrepresents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a vinyl alkoxyalkyl group having 4 to 8 carbon atoms; and Rrepresents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. |
