Provided is a cationic lipid which can be used for nucleic acid delivery to a cytoplasm and which is capable of solving the problem of physical stability of a lipid complex. This cationic lipid is a compound represented by general formula (3) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. [In the formula (3), L is an alkyl group having 7-12 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group having 7-12 carbon atoms, R is an alkyl group having 1-2 carbon atoms, an n1 and n2 are each independently an integer of 1-3.]
