<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable capable of improving cost reduction, weight reduction, and flexibility in applying countermeasures for a damage caused by birds and beasts by using a nonmetal material.SOLUTION: An optical cable 1 according to the present invention comprises a cable core 11 having multiple coated optical fibers and a sheath 13 for covering the cable core 11, and also comprises a para-aramid fiber layer 12 on an outer periphery of the cable core 11.
